February 22 International Women's Day in Beijing2009 is the 100th anniversary of the first National Women's Day in 1909 in USA. This year it is celebrated with an exhibition of five female installation/performance artists from China, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia. In the exhibition "Nu Yishu Series IV: Nu Red" the aritst respond to the colour red. Imagine Gallery in Beijing is host to the exhibition curated by Laetitia gauden and Denise Keele-bedford. The exhibition is supported by the Australian Embassy in Beijing and Ambassador Geoff Raby officially opens the exhibition on 8th March (International women's Day) between 3-6pm Song Ruyi - Chinese Female Independant Landscape architect is guest speaker. *Artists Names: Denise Keele-bedford (Australia) Evelyna Liang Kan (China, Hong-Kong) Lucille Yuk Yin Lo (China, Hong-Kong) Megumi Shimizu (Japan) Tao Aimin (China) On the occasion of “Nu Yishu – Series IV: Nu Red” Group Exhibition at Imagine Gallery from March 8th to May 12th, 2009 and in continuation of International Women Day celebration, the 6 part film “FLYING: CONFESSIONS OF A FREE WOMAN” by Jennifer Fox (USA) will be screened in different venues in Beijing.
